Read a newspaper. An actual, printed, buy in the checkout line newspaper.
People are wringing their hands about harmful AI-generated political messages. Someone is actually going to prison for creating fake political content with AI. I’m not against that, it is just that the conversation surrounding the influence of deepfakes just ignores legacy media.
The solution is simple: get your news and information on a medium that goes from the writers/editors/fact-checkers directly to you. A printed newspaper provides that. No one hacks a paper newspaper. No one goes lifts photos from a physical page and replaces them with fakes. Never has there been an interception in the printing production process to change what is on that page.
Perhaps the answer is not getting your news from social media. Just a thought…
