Certainty Is An Emotion
Certainty is a feeling that you can count on something so you don’t have to worry. It is a fortress against fears.
The problem is it doesn’t exist. Even gravity is only a theory.
People want it anyway, and are willing to pay to pretend it is there.
They fight when they feel it is threatened.
They pretend when it doesn’t exist.
They follow people who promise it to them.
There’s Certainly A Pandemic…
Now let’s talk pandemic. Many people have died. We’ve all seen the photos of refrigerator trucks full of dead people to carry the overflow from the morgue. The news has told us daily stories of Covid-19 victims and survivors. Focus shifts occasionally to particular vulnerable groups impacted by this new disease. Everyone knows someone who has died from Covid-19.
Day-to-day existence has changed. Overnight, kids are at home all the time. You are stuck inside your home constantly. Your social circle has narrowed to a few people. Laws mandate cloth coverings for your…
