Never a Dull Conversation

  1. Hitler was a vegetarian. Maybe not a moral one.

  2. You know Catherine the Great didn’t really have sex with horses, right?

  3. I never really believed that whole “dinosaurs are extinct” thing.

  4. If men are from Mars and women are from Venus - who’s on Uranus?

This, of course, reminds me of my husband Justin. He never engaged in small talk. It was always some deep conversation about a controversial topic where he honestly wanted to know the perspective of the person he was talking to. Unfortunately, there was never a lead-up to let the other person know where the conversation was headed. I have returned to our table to see a young woman running away in tears because Justin wanted to discuss the class implications of Catholic school consolidation in D.C. in the eighties. I guess she didn’t.
