Partner isolation, or group member isolation, is a key part of coercive control. It is a tool, or a tactic, that makes a reality check difficult. It is a method of unmooring a person from connection to their standards and values.
But what happens when the entire planet is isolated?
We are just coming out of a pandemic where isolation was critical to human health. Physical health, that is.
No one thought of the mental health problems our children would develop
No thought of the educational loss
No one thought of the additional suicides and homicides
No one thought of the fear morphed into denial. My cousin’s entire church got sick because they didn’t want to acknowledge Covid-19.
Now it’s time to end the isolation, and it’s hard. We can leave our homes and talk to real people, face-to-face. That’s scary. They can say or do anything, those weirdos.
