The Limits of Propaganda, according to Nazi propagandist Goebbels:

  • Sex

  • Hunger

  • Air Raids

  • Industrial Production

  • Religious Impulses

  • Opposition within occupied territories

  • “We’re losing the war!”

These six topics remained unchanged no matter what Goebbels told the German public. No story in the world is going to convince you that air raid didn’t level a factory. No radio broadcast will satiate your hunger. Factories cannot build many more machines than their equipment is designed for.
