This Karen thing became well-known in 2018. There have always been busybody older women telling you to put your shoes on in the laundry room - of all races. But the Karen we experience today is angrier and louder.

has, in recent years, become a widespread meme referencing a specific type of middle-class white woman, who exhibits behaviours that stem from privilege.

Since COVID, Karens are noted for opposing masks and fighting with salespeople, but they still phone the police on little girls selling lemonade without a permit, or lawyers standing on their own front lawn.
