Law of Attraction

From time to time, I hear about The Law of Attraction, which basically states that you attract into your life whatever you focus on. Of course, only a safe, well-fed person with a stable income and housing would think that. It’s even better when you pay someone to show you how to manifest in the first place. See here.

The law of attraction is the New Thought spiritual belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life.

Somebody should have told the Ukrainians. If they didn’t think about freedom and autonomy so much, maybe fearful thoughts about Russian invasions wouldn’t have crept in. Et voila! Tanks and bombs everywhere!

I’m the guy who started all this New Age stuff.

See, your positive thoughts in combination with emotion, if Rhonda Byrne is to be believed, brings about desire. That desire brings the object to you. That’s manifesting.

Please tell me how Planet Earth manifested a pandemic, or the United States manifested one million deaths directly attributable to COVID-19. The logic of manifesting that promises to bring into your life things about which you think and feel intensely must extend to the surprises that plop on your couch wanting spending money.
