Reichsbürger Coup Plans in Germany
An attempted coup by the Reichsbürger Movement was disrupted in Germany on Wednesday when 50 people were arrested for planning to overthrow the German government. Their aim was to - get this - reinstate the German monarchy, placing Heinrich XIII, Prince of Reuss, on the German throne. Well, looks like that didn’t turn out so well.
Members of the Reichsbürger movement deny the existence of Germany's post-WW2 Federal Republic. They believe the current state is no more than an administrative construct still occupied by the Western powers — the US, the UK and France. For them, the 1937 borders of the German Empire still exist.
