Only now are people talking about the emotional effects of social isolation for a year and a half. What hiding in our homes gave us is separation of the important from the nonsense. The space provided by the pandemic isolation has made people really think about what they want their lives to look like and what they really don’t miss at all.

Have you asked yourself what you could lose with joy? Here’s my lists:

LOSE

  • Fashion and trends

  • Makeup

  • Clean car

  • Commute to work

NEW JOYS:

  • Cooking

  • Going for a walk

  • Working from home

  • Meeting loved ones in person

  • Ham radio, sewing, bookbinding and other hobbies

  • Coffee with a friend

  • Appreciation for personal relationships.

What are your lists? The pandemic has been hard for everyone, but one of the blessings is our new ideas about what is important. Our priorities are already being seen in the marketplace, as news articles bemoan the mysterious employment trends these days.

Just stop to think, it can’t be that hard to see.
