Serious cries about AI destroying humanity are all over the place. A New York Times article described the risks of AI and paperclips.

If you ask a machine to create as many paper clips as possible, they say, it could get carried away and transform everything — including humanity — into paper clip factories.

AI is being shoehorned into every facet of our lives, and that is seen as a threat to our survival. But what about the new phenomenon of AI romantic partners? Following the above analogy, human romance will be transformed into content that trains AI bots. Will we all give up the human touch for bland, regurgitated conversations?
