Since “classes” and “workshops” can often be used to pull people into a cult, it seems worth looking at what a class should do for you, and what it can’t.

First of all, you don’t pay for a feeling, you pay for an action plan. You can leave class feeling amazing, and if so, that is fine. But you should also get standard and repeatable steps that you didn’t have before. There are skills you should be able to practice on your own or in a place away from the teacher or group.

But if you leave a class with a fantastic feeling - and nothing you can reproduce on your own - then you haven’t learned anything. The point of learning is that you now can do something new.

A class that creates a dependency on the class/seminar experience itself is probably hypnosis.
