What Some Headlines Tell You
Not all real estate reporting is awful. And then there’s this:
“Real Estate Markets and Economy Headed Towards a Post-Pandemic Normal” opines a Realtor.com title, while the actual commentary really doesn’t say that.
MSN writes in an article about real estate trends: “Real estate investments have a long history in this country of moving independently of the stock market, which sounds like a pretty good thing right about now.” The Great Recession of 2008 wasn’t that long ago. The last thing that can be said about it is that it was unrelated to the stock market. See here at Investopedia.
Real estate headlines can read more like persuasive ads than anything informative or helpful. For years, I’ve felt that there is no such thing as reporting in the real estate press - just battling press releases written by realtors or mortgage companies projecting their wishes onto the reading public.
