I was, a while ago, having a nice salad, listening to some serious blues when I picked up my I pad and the Tell caught my eye. I think you are doing well, caught some traction, felt life is still worth living and off we go. It’s going to be a long three + years. Some of the old have left and some new fresh, passionate and articulate are taken up vacuum.
The thing you won’t acknowledge is that Trump is not running for reelection, he could be the last one standing, but all the energy out there wasted is not going to change Trump purpose. After he is gone it will probably wain and that man or women if evil will pop up his garbage, however its nearing an end, maybe before you collect your first S S check or at least some rewards on your debit card. Anyway he’s the Iron Mike of his era.
So many of these Trumpsters, especially Loomer, make me want to pick up a baseball bat and see whether I'm strong enough to break a few bones. Which is why I'm glad that I'm in the woods where I can't get into that kind of trouble.
That said, I have spent more time than I care to think about at the county seat's WalMart. This is a store that I abhor for its policy toward workers, but I also don't want to have to drive 40 miles for a few basics. So I go to Walmart every couple of weeks.
And, of course, I'm going to eavesdrop. Last weekend I pushed my cart behind a couple. And the woman was livid. She was complaining to her significant other that she wasn't going to vote for anybody who had voted for that horrible bill. Further comments made it clear that she was referring to Trump's Big Beautiful (barf) Bill.
Chenango County, NY, is a part of the world that could be mistaken for the most hillbilly parts of the South minus the accent. Trump posters abound. One ramshackle house on a country road displays two massive political signs. One says Trump for President and the other says Fuck Biden. Not a lot of subtlety. This is serious right-wing Republican country. Last year, Trump won 63.4% of the votes in Chenango County.
It was clear that my friend in the front cart was one in Trump's crowd. And when you lose people like her, you're in trouble. I suspect that Trump's worst excesses will be cleaned up next year or early 2027 after the midterm elections. It's going to be fun to watch.

Good to hear from you. Interesting times we live in, meaningful, dynamic and consequential. I wish everyone for their own sake had more awareness.
I agree that Trump is not thinking long-term or strategically. And the movement he has created will not outlast him.
